THOMASVILLE LIBRARY:

The Thomas County Public Library System will be closed on Tuesday for Independence Day. We will reopen with regular hours on Wednesday.

VRP Reading logs for all ages are due July 10. 

Movie Night on Tuesday, July 18 at 5 p.m. Enjoy a brand new movie and some popcorn in the Flipper Room.

Adult Coloring Club is back on the second and fourth Friday of each month at 10 a.m.. Join us on July 14 and 28.

“We’re Bookin’ It” will meet at the library on Monday, July 10, at 5 p.m. in the Conference Room. Visitors and new members are always welcome. “H is for Hawk” by Helen MacDonald will be discussed.

Come visit our Book Sale Room on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Your donations benefit your library. 

Adult Literacy at the Library. Do you or someone you know want to improve your reading skills? Are you preparing for the GED test? Would you like to volunteer to help with Adult Literacy? Contact Kathryn Sawyer at (229) 225-5252 for more information.

Become a member of the Friends of the Library today. We have forms for 2017 membership available at our front desk. Your participation helps the library with programming, books and other materials added to the library.

Do you have an E-Reader? The library offers an online database full of free audiobooks and E-books you can download directly to your device. All you need is your library card and online password. Go to www.tcpls.org and click on the GADD link to begin downloading today.

• Monday, July 17 at 6 p.m.; Wednesday and Friday, July 19 and 21 at 10 a.m. — Learn how to make programs for your organization’s events in our Creating Programs class.

• Monday, July 24 at 6 p.m.; Wednesday, July 26 and Friday, July 28 at 10 a.m. — Need to advertise a yard sale or car wash? Learn how to make flyers for these events in this class.

Check out our Teen Events. 

• For the month of July, check out our bulletin board for the 31 Day Art Challenge. Hang out with us on Tuesday, between 2:30 and 3:30 for Challenge help and snacks.

Teen volunteers needed. You can help, participate and even use your hours you gain for your school requirements. For more information, see the Reference staff.

• Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. — For National Fried Chicken Day, come enjoy a small fried chicken snack and share some recipes.

• Wednesday, July 12 — Enjoy a slice of pecan pie and try out a new card game, Quiddler!

• Monday, July 17 — Cool off with some peach ice cream.

• Thursday, July 20 — Celebrate National Lollipop Day with a game of Candyland.

Coolidge:
