The alleged gunman, later identified as Rafael Ramos, was not there when police arrived.

“A couple of guys were just in that apartment and they were just drinking in the living room,” Moultrie Police Department Lt. Raul Leal said. “One of the guys they were with got mad. There was an argument, he left, returned and shot through the front door multiple times.”

Fermin Huerta, 30 suffered a minor wound that was not serious enough for him to be taken to the emergency room, Leal said.

Police later located Ramos, 22, of 1208 12th St. S.W., and charged him with aggravated assault.

In another violent incident, police arrested Linda Sue Kreigbaum, 38, 300 Ninth St. S.W., on a charge of battery.

Kriegbaum was arrested by police responding at about 1:45 p.m. Friday to a report of a disturbance in the 1300 block of Ninth Avenue Southeast involving her and 64-year-old Charles Hines.

“She bit the victim,” Leal said. “Then (she) cut him with her fingernails.”
