VALDOSTA – Wild Adventures Theme Park observed the 14th birthday of one of its animals last week.

Bariki the giraffe was born May 25, 2003, at Wild Adventures. 

He spends his days snacking on sweetgum tree leaves and stands almost 17 feet tall, according to park staff.

Balloons were set up under the shelter overlooking his barn in honor of his special day.

Guests were invited to sing to Bariki for his special day while wearing party hats given out by the park. Bariki, who wasn’t particularly fond of his party hat, was given plenty of vegetables as gifts.

Giraffes have a life expectancy of 28 years in captivity, according to Wild Adventures’ website.

Daily feedings are held for an additional cost. Feeding schedules can be found online at wildadventures.com.
