• 5:45 p.m. — Early bird Bingo games, sponsored by the Kouncil Club of Thomasville, are at St. Augustine Catholic Church social hall. Regular Bingo sessions begin at 6:45. Prizes awarded and proceeds go to local charities of southwest Georgia.

• 12:30 p.m. — Thomasville Kiwanis Club meets at the Plaza Restaurant.

• 11:45 a.m. — The Southwestern State Hospital retirees will meet for their monthly luncheon at O’Neal’s Country Buffet. For information, call 226-6745.

Miscellaneous

• The South Georgia Genealogy Society will meet on Saturday, June 10 in the Flipper Room of the Thomas County Public Library. The business meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. The program is a potpourri of genealogy questions you always wondered about. Doris Davies will give a report on the National Genealogy Society Conference held this past May.

• The members of Thomasville High School class of 1942 are holding a reunion at noon, June 3 at the Plaza Restaurant.

• Oak Street Group of Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Parish Hall at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 515 Oak St.

• The Magnolia High School Alumni Association members are holding their annual meeting and school reunion July 21-23. For information, call 226-7168.

• The Thomasville/Thomas County Homeless Coalition meets the third Thursday of each month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Thomasville Housing and Resource Center, 125 Lester St. For more information, call Sharon Edwards, (229) 289-0032.

• The Thomas County Republican Party meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at noon at Granddaddy’s Barbecue on Smith Avenue.

• The Thomasville Democratic Party meets at 6 p.m., the first Tuesday of every month in the Thomas County Public Library’s Flipper Room. The meeting is open to the public.

• The Parents Advocacy meeting will be held on Mondays, 6 p.m., at the Frederick Douglass Complex Library. All who have a vested interest in the Thomasville City Schools system and taxpayers are encouraged to attend.

• The Thomasville Aviation Museum’s “Power of the Past” exhibit, featuring antique aircraft engines, is open each Sunday from 1-6 p.m. at the Thomasville Regional Airport. Appointments can be made by calling 226-3010. There is no admission charge.

• The Rose City Aeromodelers group has contracted with the City of Thomasville to supervise a model airport at the Thomasville Municipal Airport and a chartered club under the auspices of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. It promotes and assists members in learning to fly radio-controlled model aircraft and will hold monthly meetings at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. For information, call 221-7589.

• The Thomas County branch of NAACP holds its monthly meetings at 6 p.m., the second Thursday of each month at the Douglass Complex.

• The Thomasville Multiple Sclerosis self-help group meets at 6 p.m., the third Tuesday of every month at the Plaza. The meeting is to bring area people together to discuss their issues in coping with the disease and the organization. Family members and caregivers can attend. • The Pilot Club holds a dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m., the first and third Tuesdays of the month at the Plaza.

• Thomasville Masonic Lodge No. 369 meets on second and fourth Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.

• Plantation Manor Assisted Living Community seeks volunteers of all ages for its Gracious Living (Alzheimer’s/dementia) wing. The volunteers will assist with the activities program. For information call Gail Davis or Betty Sawyer at 227-0880.

• Grace Group of Alcoholics Anonymous meets at noon, Mondays for open discussion meetings. On Wednesdays at noon, are closed big book meetings. At 7 p.m., Wednesdays are men’s open meetings. At noon, Thursdays are ladies open meetings. At noon, Fridays are open discussion meetings. At 7 p.m., Fridays are open big book meetings.
