April was National Donate Life Month. Throughout the month, Archbold employees participated in activities to help create awareness and encourage citizens to become organ donors. 

On April 21, National Donate Life Blue and Green Day, Archbold Memorial Hospital staff wore blue and green and hosted a flag raising ceremony to honor those that  have saved lives through the gift of organ, eye and tissue donation. The Donate Life flag will fly on the Archbold flagpole for the remainder of the month.

On any given day, about 80 people in the United States receive an organ transplant. Every 11 minutes one person is added to the national organ transplant waiting list, a list with currently over 123,000 names. But approximately 22 people a day die each day nationally waiting for an organ transplant.
