Murder suspect captured in stolen truck by ag officers

MADISON — A murder suspect from south Florida was arrested Wednesday after he passed through a Live Oak inspection station in a stolen truck.

Emmanuel Saint Fleur, 34, was wanted by the Miami Gardens Police Department on charges of first degree murder, two counts of attempted murder with a firearm and burglary with assault while armed. He was arrested by officers with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement, Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam announced Thursday. He was additionally charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, grand theft of a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, each felonies of the third degree, and a first-degree misdemeanor charge of theft of a credit card.

Officers working at an agriculture inspection station on Interstate 10 in Live Oak were alerted Wednesday that a stolen truck had passed through the station and the officers then caught the truck at a rest stop in Madison County and identified the driver as Saint Fleur, according to the Department of Agriculture release.

When asked about the stolen truck, the suspect allegedly confessed to having stolen the 2006 International from a former employer. The release also said the suspect told officers there was a firearm in the truck, which was retrieved and confirmed to be stolen as well.

The suspect then allegedly admitted to shooting two people in south Florida, the release states.

Saint Fleur was taken to the Madison County Jail where he is being held, without bound, pending extradition to Miami-Dade County, according to the release.
