The Blue Devils played at Orlando, Fla., last year at the Wide World of Sports Complex against ThunderRidge, Col.

That trip is out this year.

Replacing the game will be a traditional Friday contest against Glynn Academy Sept. 1. The game will be played at Brodie Field.

Head coach Ashley Anders had earlier suggested Glynn as an opponent for Tift.

The Red Terrors were also part of the Orlando series a year ago. While the Devils were thrashing ThunderRidge, Glynn was defeating Pomona (Col.) on an adjacent field by a 33-14 score.

Tift and Glynn have played each other five times, the last in 2011.

Glynn won that game 13-10 and lead the all-time series, 3-2. Tift’s wins came in 2010 (13-0) and 1940 (35-7).

Behind star Deejay Dallas, the Terrors were 11-2 last season and advanced to the Class AAAAAA quarterfinals.

The remainder of the Blue Devils’ schedule will be the same, with locations reversed from 2016 for all but their opener against South Effingham, which will again be played at Georgia Southern, and against Cook, which will again be in Tifton.

Among the Devils’ opponents will be 2016 Class AAAAAA state champion Valdosta and Class AA runners-up Fitzgerald.
