CAIRO — Grady County is set to host a tire amnesty day in April.

The Grady County Board of Commissioners approved submitting an application to the Georgia Environmental Protection Division for a reimbursement program on scrap tire abatement at Tuesday’s meeting.

Vice Chairman Ray Prince motioned for approval and LaFaye Copeland seconded.

The approval also allows the county to apply for funding.

According to the meeting correspondence, the Georgia Solid Waste Trust Fund will reimburse the county if the application is approved on a first-come, first-served basis.
