MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — Two men, both employees of a nightclub in downtown Milledgeville, were arrested on multiple felony drug charges during a Wednesday afternoon drug bust by local authorities.

The arrests came after local authorities reportedly uncovered a large quantity of liquid and pill steroids during a raid of Capital City nightclub and the Chops bar on South Wayne Street Tuesday morning by FBI and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agents.

James Eric Scarborough and Paul Michael Creech, both of South Wayne Street addresses, were arrested in Wednesday’s bust.

Federal authorities have not revealed the nature of the investigation that led to the raid, but several boxes of suspected evidence were taken from both local businesses on Tuesday.

Ocmulgee Drug Task Force Commander Wesley Nunn told The Union-Recorder that the drug arrests were made based on what federal authorities discovered at the local businesses during the raid.

“The Ocmulgee Drug Task Force swore out a total of 14 felony drug warrants against two suspects on Wednesday afternoon, which resulted in the seizure of a very, very large quantity of steroids,” Nunn said at the scene of the drug bust.

Agents with the Ocmulgee Drug Task Force made the arrests shortly before 5 p.m.

The drug commander said both men share an apartment inside the building that doubles as a residence and home of two different businesses.

Scarborough was charged with three counts of Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act (VGCSA). Specifically, he was charged with three counts of possession of a Scheduled III narcotic of steroids with intent to distribute.

Creech, meanwhile, was charged with 10 felony counts of VGCSA for possession with intent to distribute a Scheduled III narcotic, known as steroids, and one count of a possession of Wax or what is referred to as “Dab” on the streets, Nunn said.

“It is really concentrated marijuana,” Nunn said.

After the suspects were arrested, they were both taken to the Baldwin County Law Enforcement Center where they were jailed.

Nunn said the investigation will likely yield additional arrests.
