Rotary honors technology students

Luvy Valdivia-Miranda of Thomas County Central High School and Sherriona Jackson of Thomasville High School were honored as Technology Students of the Month by the Rotary Club of Thomasville.
Valdivia-Miranda’s teachers described her as an exceptional academic student who is hard-working, disciplined, determined and motivated. She is involved in student government and had the highest average in Latin III. She is active in Science Olympiad and won fourth place in the region for Protein Modeling. She also participates in cross country and received the Yellow Jacket Cross Country Award.
Jackson is currently taking fourth year of health care at Southern Regional Technical College. She was chosen for this recognition for completing the Healthcare Pathway and the Food Science course exploration.
She was homecoming queen. Other honors include the Outstanding Achievement Medal for Food, Nutrition and Wellness, and the Highest Average Medal in Essentials of Health care and American Literature.
She is involved in varsity girls basketball, track and field, and varsity football and competition cheerleading.
