Georgia College to present 24-Hour Plays

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — One of the year’s most unusual productions is coming to Milledgeville this weekend. Saturday in Max Noah Recital Hall, Georgia College will present this year’s installment of “The 24-Hour Plays,” an annual event in which GC students write, prepare and perform an hour-long series of short plays all within the span of — you guessed it — 24 hours.

For the last 15 years, Georgia College has engaged students in this 24-hour race against the thespian clock. This year, six teams of students will team up to create one 10-minute play apiece, with everything from scripts to musical numbers created in real time. The event is a collaboration between GC’s Department of Theatre and Dance and the Creative Writing Program and promises to make for an hour of plays that could range anywhere from the most serious dramas to the most lighthearted comedies.

General admission is $6; Senior citizens, GC Faculty/Staff, on-GC Students are admitted for $5

GC students are admitted for $3. Showtime is 8 p.m.
