THOMASVILLE — A man a narcotics agent saw selling a drug from his vehicle had been under surveillance for some time.

Lanier Jamar Smiley has been selling molly, also known as ecstasy, in Thomas County, Louis Schofill, Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division commander, said.

“This agent did surveillance and surveilled Smiley doing transactions,” Schofill said. “He also was able to purchase molly from (Mr.) Smiley.”

Narcotics agents obtained a search warrant for Smiley’s vehicle and residence. Officers recovered molly, marijuana and digital scales.

Smiley, 33, 106 James St., is charged with possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance with intent to distribute and misdemeanor marijuana possession.
