The girls avenged a loss to Brooks County on Friday, running away in the second half behind a 21-point performance from Tre’Oncia Andrews for a 54-25 win over Albany. The boys moved to 3-0 against region opponents on the year, putting together an easy 65-38 win.

In the first quarter of their game, the girls were in full control, with the Bulldogs coming out of the opening tip scoring 17 straight points for a 17-0 lead at the end of the quarter. Sherriona Jackson connected on a 3 in the first, and Andrews scoring her first five points.

However, the Bulldogs took their foot off the gas a little bit in the second, allowing the Indians to climb back into the game with a 12-3 run, with the only Thomasville score coming from a single 3-pointer. At halftime, Thomasville still led 20-12, but had to rediscover itself.

Albany continued its run briefly in the second half to get the score to 20-14, but Thomasville began their own run with scores from Andrews and Zoey Jackson. Andrews continued the scoring barrage with a 3, giving the Bulldogs a much needed lift, and a 30-14 lead with 5:20 to go in the third.

Andrews scored 12 points in the third, a crucial part of a substantial lead that Albany could not recover from in the fourth.

The boys started things with a 3 from Luke Wallace to help Thomasville take a 7-4 lead early in the first. Reggie Perry and Vonterius Woolbright added four each for a 14-10 lead after one.

In the second, the Bulldogs pulled away for good, with Perry scoring 11 points as part of a 21-7 run for a 35-17 halftime lead, which Thomasville sat on for the rest of the night.

Perry finished with 27 total points, with Woolbright ending his night with nine.

Thomasville will be back in action for another region contest against Early County, whose boys currently sit tied with the Bulldogs atop the standings with an undefeated Region 1-2A record.
