VALDOSTA, Ga. — Two men charged with stealing about $121,000 worth of technological equipment from a business in Hendersonville, Tenn., were arrested in Valdosta Dec. 9, Hendersonville police said Monday.

Two men were captured in a Valdosta sting during the reported sell of some of the stolen, high-tech equipment to an informant from the Hendersonville Police Department, police said.

The original burglary took place Dec. 3, and all of the stolen property was recovered in the Dec. 9 sting, Hendersonville Detective Denney Coarsey said. The two men are being held in the Lowndes County jail.

Christopher T. Davis, 36, and Dexter D. Hubbard, 34, each face a Tennessee charge of burglary and a Georgia charge of theft by transporting stolen property across state lines, according to Hendersonville police reports.

Davis reportedly faces additional Georgia charges of felony possession of cocaine, obstruction of law-enforcement officers, and possession of a firearm during commission of or attempts to commit a felony, according to reports.

Hendersonville Detective Jim Bachman said the investigation spans multiple states: The suspects had contacts in Florida, an address in North Carolina, and even sold some of the stolen property to an unsuspecting buyer in Indiana.

Once the buyer found out he bought stolen property, he returned the equipment, Bachman said.

Bachman said the Valdosta Police Department did an excellent job in securing the perimeter and capturing the suspects during the sting, saying the HPD has “nothing but great things to say” about Valdosta police.
