THOMASVILLE — Derek Godwin of the Thomas County Building Inspection Department has been named to the Georgia Chapter, International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI) Board of Directors.

The appointment allows Godwin to represent electrical inspectors in matters dealt with nationally and internationally by the electrical industry.

Elected at the IAEI annual meeting at Jekyll Island, Godwin is employed with Thomas County Department of Building Inspections as an ICC certified inspector.

A Thomas County native, Godwin began his career with his father, Mike Godwin, working summers as a teen and learning from him, then progressed to training and receiving his own state licensing.

Godwin and his wife, Bonnie, have five sons.
