- The FCCLA Club of Colquitt County High School helped prepare scooters for the Cheer and Toy Shop Tuesday.
MOULTRIE, Ga. — Ginger Hunnicutt’s FCCLA Club helped Boy Scout Devan Spraggins assemble scooters for the Children’s Cheer and Toy Shop on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Spraggins, who is attempting to earn his Eagle Scout honor, worked with the club to assemble about 300 scooters for the shop’s distribution day. The shop also got help assembling scooters from the Publix Leadership Team Oct. 27, and the team helped clean the shop and bag almost 200 new toys.
While 200 new toys have been bagged, and new scooters assembled, the shop is in need of donations for the Used Toys portion of the shop. Angie Kling, director of the Children’s Cheer and Toy Shop, says that she will be working with a youth group at First Baptist Church of Moultrie from 8:45 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 5, and the school system social workers will host a work day on Friday, Nov. 11, to receive toy donations.
Kling says the Children’s Cheer and Toy Shop greatly appreciates the work of the volunteers and the ongoing support of Colquitt County that never falters in preparing for the Christmas season.
