MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colquitt County deputies looking to take down a thief responsible for a rash of thefts from residents’ cars made two drug arrests early on Saturday.
At about 4:20 a.m. on Saturday a deputy doing a security check at businesses in the 1200 block of Highway 319 North came across a 2001 Hyundai Elantra parked at the back of the property, police said.

“With all these burglaries and cars (being entered), they’re really on their toes,” said Inv. Justin Searcy of the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Team.
Searcy responded to the location, where the deputy had detained Robert Wesley Hutchinson and Wesley Cole Hutchinson.
“Upon arrival, their stories didn’t make sense for them being back there,” Searcy said.
When given permission to search the Hyundai, he said, officers found inside of it about a gram and a half of suspected methamphetamine and a small amount of suspected cocaine.
Both Robert Hutchinson of Thomasville and Wesley Hutchinson of Boston were charged with possession of methamphetamine. Wesley Hutchinson also was charged with possession of cocaine.
