Services for Barbara Jean Laing, 72, of Whigham, Georgia, are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at the Cairo Church of God, Cairo, GA. Pastor DeWayne Atkinson will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Whigham, Georgia. Mrs. Laing died at her home in Whigham, Georgia, on Saturday night, June 18, 2016.

Mrs. Laing was born on April 28, 1944, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to the late Robert Claude Callahan and Delila “Betty” Anderson. She was married to Jimmie Laing, who survives. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cairo Church of God. Her favorite joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Other survivers include her daughters, Cyndi Ferguson and her husband Scott of Cairo, Georgia, Liz Ponder and her husband Greg of Whigham; son, Tim Laing and his wife Jacinda of Albany, GA; grandchildren, Casey Ferguson, Luke Ferguson, Lindsey Ferguson, Taylor Ponder, Harley Ponder, Rev. Ivy Laing, Jamie Laing; brother, Larry Callahan and his wife Barbara; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Callahan; her mother Delila “Betty” Anderson; her step-mother, Wynelle “Tince” Callahan; and her step-father, Carlton Anderson.

The family will receive friends in the Life and Activities Center of the Cairo Church of God on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.
