TIFTON — Local downtown restaurant 41 & Main will be featured on the Destination America channel in July.

Tom Daly, part owner of the restaurant along with Tobie Passmore, Hal Baxley and now Myron Mixon, said 41 & Main has partnered with Mixon to provide his competition style barbecue at the local restaurant.

Mixon, who is from Georgia and a national grand champion in barbecuing, and his son, Michael, were in Tifton on June 5 at 41 & Main as filming for their TV show, BBQ Rules, was taking place.

Daly said the show is planned to air July 10 or 17 at 10 a.m. He noted there are three episodes, which are an hour long.

He said it’s great to have not only 41 & Main, but downtown Tifton as well being promoted on the show.

With an already diverse menu offering a variety of food choices, Daly said by using Mixon’s recipes and smokers, they are able to provide even more options for their customers. They will also provide more food choices in the future.

Daly said the meat is done by Jack Fallin, who works with them full-time. Fallin travels with Mixon, participating in barbecue competitions. When asked how they linked up with Mixon, Daly said Baxley knows him very well.

Currently, the restaurant has a balcony and private board room upstairs for private parties or business meetings, 24-foot salad bar, full-service bar and a wood-fired oven from Italy. Daly noted an Italian chef worked with them for a week.

Additionally, he said they have approximately 75 employees and are in the process of building another kitchen downstairs to accommodate new menu items. The restaurant continues to provide catering and will cater the local Rock the Block event, as well as provide catering for the Atlanta Falcons in July. 41 & Main is also looking to become a tailgating sponsor for the Georgia Dome.
