The Thomasville Bulldogs are bound for the final four in the Class AA state playoffs after a 6-0 victory against Lovett High School at Veterans Memorial Stadium Saturday afternoon.

David Souders scored the first goal five minutes in on one he crossed from the left side. He added another in the 20th minute in a similar fashion to make it 2-0.

Tommy Hill scored to increase the lead, celebrating by play-boxing with the corner flag as his teammates rushed to cheer with him.

Hank Sofferin added to the left-sided score list with one he powered in after juking around the defender. Austin Mata took advantage of some confusion and lackluster effort from the Lions with less than two minutes until the half to put it at 5-0. After a teammate spotted the ball after a call in the box, Mata pushed it past.

Sean Crowley added one early in the second half as the Bulldogs worked to preserve the shutout. It was successful as every player got playing time in the round of eight game.

Thomasville will play the winner of Greater Atlanta Christian vs. Benedictine Tuesday. That elite eight game kicked off at 4 p.m.
