Lambert is TOTY at Garrison-Pilcher

Janet Lambert, first grade teacher, is Garrison- Pilcher Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year. Lambert has been a teacher for 31 years, with 28 of those years at Garrison-Pilcher.
The Teacher of the Year (TOTY) is nominated by and voted on by Garrison- Pilcher’s faculty. Three finalists are interviewed by former recipients of this award and the final nomination is awarded to the top choice.
Lambert graduated from Georgia Southwestern with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She continued her education by earning a master’s degree from University of Georgia and a specialist degree from Florida State University.
Lambert said, “Our children are our future, and I believe teaching is one of the most important professions one can have. Teaching a child to read is one of the most rewarding experiences in my career. I have been at Garrison-Pilcher for 28 years, and it is a wonderful place to work. I have many great co-workers that help make my job productive and enjoyable.”

She has been at Garrison-Pilcher for many years and has helped various administrators including myself throughout her years. We all are pleased to announce her as Garrison-Pilcher’s Teacher of the Year.”
Lambert has been married to Jeff Lambert for 28 years, and has two daughters: Lauren, who is Assistant Manager of Kolomoki Mounds State Park; and Leigh, who is a junior at Florida State University.
