THOMASVILLE — Activities for the 2015 Men’s Weekend Explosion at St. Luke Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CME), 305 Chatham Drive, are set.
Men’s Day activities will take place throughout the weekend. This year’s Men Day theme is “Think Like a Man.”
Scheduled events include:
• An Interactive Breakfast Saturday at 9 a.m. Biscuits, sausage, bacon, eggs and grits with apple juice, orange juice and/or bottled water will be served.
• Men’s Day Program/Worship Service on Sunday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Arthur L. Jones III will be the Men’s Day speaker.
• A Soul Feast will be served after the Sunday morning service.
Said Keith Alan Hose, “We are extremely excited about St. Luke’s Men’s Weekend Explosion. I know that most people associate the word explosion with destruction, but we believe that explosion can also be about construction — the building up of God’s people. (Rev.) Jones is a friend of mine and a dynamic speaker.”
Hose, Men’s Weekend Explosion chairman, said activity planned for Men’s Day Weekend will achieve fellowship, friendship, stewardship and discipleship.
Church Pastor Quinn Choice, “I am so excited about the Men’s Day activities that the men of ‘The Luke’ have planned. The theme, ‘Think Like a Man,’ is a very appropriate theme because the word of God reminds us that as a man thinks in his heart so is he. So if we think like men, then we will act like men. If we act like men, then we can raise young men to be men.”
Choice said training young men to be good men while embracing their brothers and sisters in Christ is a worthwhile mission.
