Services for the Rev. Henry Lincoln Flowers Jr. will be conducted Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church 310 4th Ave. S.W. Cairo, Georgia, Reverend Alexander Mack, pastor, Reverend Dr. Emory C. Virgil officiating. Interment at Crestview Cemetery Hwy 84 Cairo, Georgia. Active pallbearers are family, friends and former church members. Honorary pallbearers are ministers of the Gospel. He passed away at home on January 14, 2015. Rev. Flowers was born in Bainbridge Georgia February 26, 1943. He was the son of the late Reverend Henry Lincoln Flowers, Sr. and the late Mrs. Aurie Bell “A.B. Greene Flowers. He joined the Mt. Calvary M.B. Church at an early age and was baptized by the late Dr. W.M. Westbrooks, Jr. He was a faithful young man who served as a youth prayer meeting leader, youth Baptist Training Union (BTU) Teacher, Youth Sunday School Teacher until he went off to college. He attended the Grady County Public Schools graduating in 1960 from the Washington Consolidated High School. He entered the Ft. Valley State College now Fort Valley State University in the fall of 1960. After completing one year he was called by God to preach the gospel. Rev. Flowers entered the American Baptist Theological Seminary of Nashville, Tennessee, where he received the Bachelor of Theology in 1965. Rev. Flowers was ordained by the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Dr. Reverend W.M. Westbrooks, Jr. in 1963. Rev. Flowers went on to pastor Friendship Baptist Church in Camilla, Georgia and Trinity Baptist Church in Boston Georgia. In 1981 history would repeat itself he was called to be the Pastor Greater Macedonia M.B. Church of Bainbridge, Georgia where his father was pasturing when he was born. He also hailed numerous positions in the Baptist Convention and associations. He remained pastor at Macedonia M.B. Church until his retirement in 2009. Survivors include his wife, Annie “Ann” Hinson of Cairo, Ga.; sons, Rev. Henry L. Flowers III, Minister Carlton D. Flowers both of Cairo, GA.; daughter, Cassandra Flowers-Knight of Cairo, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Barbara Flowers of Augusta, Ga.; granddaughters, Cherelle L. Flowers of Cairo, Crystal Starr Flowers of Atlanta, Courtney M. Flowers of Jacksonville, Fla.; great-granddaughter, Chase Elizabeth of Atlanta, Ga.; cousins, Virginia (Louis, Jr.) Copeland of Cairo, Ga.; cousins, James Bell of Columbus, Ga., Dorothy Hunter of Cairo, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Minnie H. Calloway of Bainbridge, Ga., Bettie (Rev. Charles) Flowers of Quincy, Fla., Carolyn H. (Charles) Marshall of Quincy, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Wash (Rhodella) Hinson, Jr. of Quincy, Fla., Mr. James (Gladys) Hinson of Quincy, Fla.; caregiver, Mary Cheevers, Barbara M.
