Singletary-Hardy

Margaret Priscilla Singletary became the bride of Gordon David Hardy in a ceremony performed at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at First Presbyterian Church of Thomasville. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lewis Singletary Jr. of Thomasville and the groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Townsend Hardy of Anniston, Alabama.
The ceremony was performed by the Reverend Doctor Timothy Filston and directed by Brenda Lee. Musical accompaniment was provided by organist Rick Carlson, violinist Valerie Arsenault, oboist Margaret Cracchiolo, and on trumpet Kenneth Kronholt. Bryan Watt, tenor, sang.
Maids of honor were Miss Tara Alison Ann Garland of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Taylor Casey Smalling of Atlanta. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Michelle Coram, Winer Merritt Kadis, and Janae Lory Robertson of Atlanta; Laurel Lee Derby of New York City; Ellen Patricia Hardy of Birmingham, Alabama; Sarah Elizabeth Johnston of Chicago, Illinois; and Marielle Nicole Frances Youmans of Augusta.
The groom’s father served as his best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Dennis Duke, Christopher Austin Frederick and Taylor Martin Stout,of Atlanta; Stephen Francis Benda of Newnan, Andrew Parker Holt, of Savannah, Nathan Coleman O’Connor of Videlia, Benjamin Walker Trammel of Anniston and Richard Lewis Singletary III of Tallahassee, Florida.
Cousins of the bride, Aleksandra Ryce Arwood of Thomasville and Margaret Evelyn Jones of Atlanta served as program attendants.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a simple silk taffeta ball gown dress by Allure fashioned with a crystal and mother of pearl satin belt. Her veil flowed beyond the gown in a chapel length train. During the ceremony, she wore a custom wrap adorned with a heirloom pin of her mother’s handed down from her maternal great grandmother, Saro Hinson, and great aunt, Julia Miles. She carried a traditional hand tied bouquet of white ranunculus, lisianthus, cosmos, dusty miller, olive leaves and shades of ivory and blush David Austin roses.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at Glen Arven Country Club. The decor featured family crystal and silver candelabra and serving pieces from the bride’s grandparents and great grandparents. Following a trip to Saint Lucia, the couple resides in Atlanta.
