When police in Oneonta, New York responded to a robbery in progress, they discovered a man wearing a ski mask being held on the floor by a customer.

According to reports, Joseph A. Cardo, 34, entered a New York smoke shop wearing a ski mask. He carried a black handgun and demanded money from the register.

Another customer grabbed the gun, a Daisy pellet pistol, and restrained Cardo while the police were called.

Lt. Douglas Brenner said he wasn’t sure if the customer was aware of what kind of weapon Cardo had when he reacted.

“You could probably shoot out a window [with a BB gun,]” Brenner said.”But it’ll get you in a lot of trouble using it the way he did.”
