Services for Evelyn Chastain Bellamy, 98, of Thomasville are at 3 p.m., Sunday at First Baptist Church Chapel. The Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner and the Rev. Marty Carnes will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Bellamy passed away Aug. 21, at her residence. Born Sept. 20, 1915, in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late Arthur T. Chastain and Alene Wade Chastain. She was married for 50-plus years to Chester D. Bellamy, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Bellamy was a member of First Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Tamlin B. Fortner of Columbus, Linda B. Browne of Macon, Pat B. Johnson of Pine Park, David Bellamy and wife Priscilla of Thomasville; son-in-law, Rodney Braswell of Thomasville; grandchildren, Neal Fortner and wife Claire, Lisa Browne Barksdale and husband David, Leanne Browne Rosenbower and husband Todd, Jeffrey Browne and wife Jennifer, Reese Johnson, Jr, Jennie Johnson Lewis and husband Scott, Brian Bellamy and wife Vicki, Nicole Bellamy Stanley and husband Jason, Daniel Bellamy, Davina Bellamy Heinemann and husband Eddie, Clint Bellamy, Jason Braswell and wife Annemarie, Molly Braswell Dickens, Bradley Braswell and Lauren Braswell; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Sarah Braswell; granddaughter, Tammy Lee Fortner; son-in-laws, Leneal Fortner and Rodney Browne; sisters, Jo Smallwood, Vivian Willis, Maddie Powell, and Minnie Franklin; brothers, Wade Chastain, Jack Chastain and Phillip Chastain.
