2014 Miss Boston Pageant

  The 2014 Miss Boston Pageant is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Boston Events Center at Green and Adams streets. The pageant consists of five divisions, ranging from ages 3 to 19. To participate in the pageant, all contestants’ parents/legal guardian must have proof of one of the following: a Boston mailing address; membership at a Boston Church; or employment with a Boston business. Boston Mini-Marathon Festival

  The 35th annual Boston Mini-Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 25, in Downtown Boston. For race information, contact Brad Johnson at 229-226-4679 or 229-498-8500. For arts and crafts, contact Betty Hoskins at 229-224-8660. For parade or general information, contact Danny Groover at 229-224-6201. All entry forms are available on the Boston, Ga., website, www.bostonga.com. The race begins at 8 a.m. The day is full of activities for all ages.

Boston Community Club

The Boston Community Club will meet the third Tuesday of each month at the Boston Community Center at 7:30 p.m. Meetings are open to everyone as the club continues to plan for the Boston Mini-Marathon Festival during the last weekend in October.

School has started

Drivers and walkers in the Boston area are asked to be extra careful with the start of a new school year. Remember that children are waiting on buses throughout the city and rural areas and to be cautious of the children during early morning hours.
