Services for Sam Ella Anderson, 93, of Thomasville, are at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church at 300 Harris St. The Rev. Curnell Henry will officiate and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery. Active pallbearers are grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are deacons of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Anderson died Feb. 21 at Archbold Hospital. Born April 12, 1914, in Terrell County, she was a daughter of T.B. and Della Evans Hardwick. She was married to Tommy Lee Jones who preceded her in death in 1974 and later married the Rev. Velver Anderson who also preceded her in death in 1982. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where served as church secretary, Sunday school teacher and member of the mother board. Survivors include her son, Herbert Jones of Miami, Fla.; daughters, Betty Conningham (Jessie) of Atlanta, Gladys Ann Parker of Thomasville, Arteria Hill (Rev. James) of Albany; sister, Ann Vann of Cleveland, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 45 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous stepchildren, nieces, nephews, four godchildren; one daughter-in-law; and friends. She was preceded in death by two sons, Tommy Lee Jones Jr. and Paul Edward Jones. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today at the funeral home. The viewing is from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church with no viewing after eulogy. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
