Services for Jack Anderson Mullis Sr., 84, of Hahira, are 11 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Bethany Baptist Church with Pastor Nick Kudyk officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. Mr. Mullis passed away Tuesday, April 22, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. He was born in Moultrie, Ga., on Dec. 10, 1929, to the late Asa D. Mullis Sr. and Ethel Croft Mullis. He lived in Moultrie and Thomasville before moving to Hahira. Mr. Mullis was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church and a retired electrician. He enjoyed working, fishing, spending time at the farm and his grandchildren’s activities. Survivors include his four children and their spouses, Kathie and David Cardin of Boston, Ga., Jack Jr. and Martha Mullis of Ray City, Jerry and Gail Mullis of Hahira, Lori and David Piland of Thomasville; his grandchildren, Shon Cardin, Kimberly (Chip) Jenkins, Alena Mullis, Andy (Jennifer) Mullis, Larry (Jennifer) Mullis, Candi (Heath) Spardley, Gary Hayes, Ian Carnahan; 10-great grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, William S. Mullis Sr. of Valdosta, Asa D. Jr. and Dolly Mullis of Lakeland, Fla., Eugene Sr. and Holly Mullis of Moultrie; two sisters, Mary Alice Theroux of Tucson, Ariz. and Sherry Lynn Mullis of Owasso, Okla. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathlun Warner Mullis; a grandson, Justin Mullis; and a sister, Dorothy Pearl Sherfield. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home at 401 S. Church St., Hahira, Ga. 31632.
