Curtis Willis

Curtis Willis was born in Grady County, Georgia to the late Grady Willis and Geneva Bell Willis on August 5, 1934.  He was a good father, grand father, brother, neighbor, and friend. For many years, he owned his own logging business employing many members of his own community. By day or night, moonlight knew how to make a dollar.  He attended school in Grady County, Georgia.  In addition, he completed some technical training. Curtis was drafted in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He was later transferred to the Army Reserve.  He was married to Vernita Williams.   To this union, six children were born. Curtis grew up as a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Cairo, Georgia. He departed this life on August 5, 2013 at Grady General Hospital, Cairo, Georgia.  He leaves to mourn 9 children, Curtis (Edith) Willis Jr., Cairo, Georgia, Priscilla (Jerome) Register, Hahira, Georgia; Jacob Willis, Cairo, Georgia, Louvenia (Elliott) Lewis, Beamount, California, Frank (Amy) Willis, Cairo, Georgia, Darlene (Willie) Sherman, Cairo, Georgia, Coni Williams, Tampa, Florida, Chris Saddberry, Cairo, Georgia; and Kelvin (Yolanda) Thomas, Cairo, Georgia, 3 sister, 2 brothers, and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Adams, Baltimore, Maryland, Elizabeth Willis, Cairo, Georgia, Marilyn Thomas, Cairo, Georgia, Joe Nathan (Lilly) Willis, Cairo, Georgia, David Lee Willis, Cairo, Georgia, Gladys Willis, Savannah, Georgia, 21 grandchildren, 18 great-grand children.
