Amateur video captured a fiery crash in this Indiana town, when a semi truck went airborne over a highway interchange and burst into flames.
Amazingly, the driver and his young son suffered only minor injuries.
It happened last week when 30-year-old Ryan T. Young, of Owenton, Ky., attempted to avoid a vehicle drifting into his lane while eastbound on Interstate 74 in Greensburg, Ind.
Indiana State Police said Young swerved to avoid the vehicle and ran off the south side of the interstate. The truck then went up a hill and through a guardrail, then ramped a highway interchange before striking another guardrail, tearing off the truck’s fuel tanks and causing its fuel to ignite.
Video of the crash was captured by another trucker’s dashboard camera, CNN reported. It shows Young’s semi soaring over the interstate overpass, then bursting into flames.
Young reportedly suffered minor facial and head injuries in the crash. His 7-year-old son, who was a passenger in the vehicle, suffered only scratches. Both were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
