Rant & Rave June 28

“Recently, we’ve been reading in our local newspaper about the needs of so many people here. Just think about a widow woman, nearly 90 years old, on a limited income. In fact, I am living below the poverty line. I am qualified for food stamps, but I won’t take them. Still, we have the tax assessors raise the values of our home and charge us more taxes, a large part of which is for the school tax. That is very unfair.”

“I wanted to comment on Mr. Tyler’s letter. Frankly, I love our brick streets. I think we are proud of them. We would like for him to continue to visit Thomasville, but he can drive on other streets. He is welcome here, but we are going to keep our brick streets.”

“If you think ‘progress’ was made on the issue of ‘marriage’ on Wednesday, consider this: John Adams said, ‘Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.’ What you think of as ‘progress’ is actually sexual anarchy — the camel’s nose in the tent — and the perversions described as ‘activism’ by those who have lost any moral compass they ever might have had have just begun. We all have sin, but this one is lust that is never quenched.”

“To the ranter calling Randy Young a ‘white boy:’ That sounds kind of racist. Maybe you should apologize to him!”

“The problem in today’s society is that there is not enough discipline on our kids.”

“Sheriff, you are making yourself look foolish now.”

“No offense, ranter, but you moved to Crawfordville and you’re calling Thomasville a hick town?”

“Buford, you live in Crawfordville! Come on, man!”
