Troopers from Thomasville Post 12 Georgia State Patrol stopped the vehicle and found $67,880 in 20s and $3,000 in cashier’s checks when the Cadillac SRX was stopped for speeding, said Sgt. First Class Tommy Peeples, Post 12 commander

More than $67,000 in cash was seized from a 2013 Cadillac stopped by state troopers on Ga. 93 South in Grady County.

Troopers from Thomasville Post 12 Georgia State Patrol stopped the vehicle and found $67,880 in 20s and $3,000 in cashier’s checks when the Cadillac SRX was stopped for speeding, said Sgt. First Class Tommy Peeples, Post 12 commander.

The driver and passengers told troopers they were from Miami, Fla., had been to Atlanta and were en route to Tallahassee, Fla.

Also found in the vehicle were $800 tennis shoes and $400 belts, among other high-end clothing, Peeples said.

“The driver showed signs of impairment,” the commander added.

Calvin Cedant, 20, 8348 Southwest 23rd Court, Miramar, Fla., the driver, is charged with possession of controlled substance, driving while license suspended, speeding, driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane.

Passengers — Styvens Denis Louis, 21, 2564 Centerville Court, Tallahassee; Harrison Henry, 22, 1767 Hermitage Blvd., Apartment 7204, Tallahassee; Jordan Janvier, 20, 8310 Northeast Fourth Ave., El Portal, Fla. — are charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession.

Suspects were released from the Grady County Detention Center on bond.

In addition to the money, troopers also seized the Cadillac.
