This course will be taught by Kalena Richards, an experienced food artist and baker. She also teaches the college’s cake decorating two and three classes, which include learning to use fondant. Students will receive instructions on recipes, fill techniques and procedures for creating an edible work of art. Students will need to provide their own icing and will need to purchase one 25-piece Wilton Cake Decorating Kit.

“Cake decorating has become one our most popular personal enrichment classes. The popularity of this course can readily be attributed to the instructor, Kalena Richard.

“Kalena makes each class informative and enjoyable as students learn about the art of cake decorating. She has received excellent reviews from her students and as a result of their positive experiences, most of them have continued with subsequent classes. We would encourage anyone who is interested in cake decorating to register for this course,” Gary Pitts, vice president of economic development.

Classes will be held on July 9, 16, 23 and 30 and Aug. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Buidling D, Room 108 and costs $55. For information or to register, contact Ruby Barron at (229) 225-2579.
