Southwest Georgia Technical College (SWGTC) recently received a donation of a Digital NST (Non-Stress Testing) Fetal Monitor from My Ideal Care, a local company. The VM F6™ is the new standard for digital Non-Stress Testing. More affordable and efficient than current paper-based analog systems, it is the first real paperless alternative to the conventional CTG Z fold trace. The VM F6™ was developed for the high-risk pregnancy, but is perfect for any busy OB practice or clinic. The Thomasville Shaw Center for Women’s Health is the only other facility that currently owns one of these new machines in Thomasville.

“My Ideal Care knows that the future of healthcare resides with our students. We wanted to make sure they had the latest and greatest technology to learn from while enhancing their skills for tomorrow’s challenging healthcare needs. We truly believe giving back to the community is a priority and we are happy to have donated to SWGTC,” commented Adrian Davis, CEO of My Ideal Care.
The VM F6™ was donated to SWGTC on Thursday, Sept. 8, by Adrian Davis of My Ideal Care. The new machine will be located in the obstetrics room in the Virtual Hospital of the new Health Science Building at SWGTC. The Virtual Hospital space is a state-of-the-art learning environment that will closely mimic the surroundings of a medical center. This technologically advanced teaching facility will expand and enhance the hands-on training opportunities for SWGTC Practical Nursing and Associate of Science Nursing students. The obstetrics area will be equipped with a specialized birthing simulator, which will allow students to develop a comprehensive knowledge of the birthing and post-birth process. Students will be able to use the new NST Fetal Monitor on these simulators and gain first-hand experience with stress-testing before entering the workforce.

“I would like to thank Mr. Adrian Davis with MyIdealCare for donating this premium digital monitor to the ASN program. This monitor will allow our students to trace fetal heartbeats and then store them into our electronic medical record system for debriefing. This machine will help our College meet the changing digital needs and enhance patient care in the obstetrical area,” Tammy Bryant, RN, Associate of Science Nursing Program Director.
