Services for Janie Lee Rawls are at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at St. Beulah Primitive Baptist Church, Vine Street, Meigs. Elder Jimmy Simmons will officiate and interment is in Meigs Sunset Cemetery. Mrs. Rawls died Friday, Sept. 16 surrounded by her loved ones. Born April 18, 1927, in Worth County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Dave and Ada Mae Deloney Lee. She was a member of St. Beulah Primitive Baptist Church in Meigs. She maintained her duties as a mother of the church until her health started to decline. Survivors include four daughters, Jackie Brooks (Gary) of Grady County, Vivian Rawls-Reese (Willie), Virginia Rawls (David), Margaret Rawls-Wynn all of Thomas County; two sons, Calvin C. Rawls, William Rawls of Thomas County; two brothers, Enoch Lee Sr. of Thomasville, David Lee Sr. of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Pearline Ransom of Quincy, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Lee of Quincy, Fla., Rose Lee of Detroit, Mich., Missouri Lee of Thomasville; 11 grandchildren, Vashone T. Rawls (Diana) of Stockbridge, Nicholas George (Aubrette) of Tampa, Fla., Tiffany “Tip” Brooks (Evita) of Atlanta, Norman Wynn Jr., Morgan Wynn, A.J. James Jr., Bridgette Y. McCaskill, Kennedy Williams, Whitney Rawls, David Rawls Jr. all of Thomas County, Tierra Edwards of Mitchell County; two sons-in-law, Norman Wynn Sr., Lewis Brooks; special nephew and nieces, Johnny and Carrie Lee, Mariah Lee and Janice Rauls; special sister-in-law, Verna Rauls; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and spiritural children. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Willie (Bro) Rawls Jr.; a son, David Rawls Sr.; and nine siblings. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 10 a.m., 3014 Rauls St., Meigs for the procession. The viewing is from noon to 8 p.m., today at the funeral home. — Hadley’s Funeral Home
