Services for Roscoe Imore Cliett, 92, of Cairo, are at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Robert Conner and Elder Jon Mizell will officiate and interment is in Tired Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Greg Ponder, Bob Sloan, Randall Jones, Raburn Avery, Winburn Knight, Denny Bryant and Donald Walden.  Mr. Cliett passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at his home. Born on Dec. 12, 1918, in Cairo, Ga., he was the son of the late Joseph Hardy Cliett and Carrie Williams Cliett.  He served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II.  He was a retired building contractor.  Because of the respect and devotion to his handcraft, many families were on his waiting list for months in anticipation of a custom home built by “Mr. Roscoe.” He was devoted to his family and was a member of Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He loved woodworking and helping others with good deeds. Survivors include his wife, Pearl Miller Cliett of Cairo; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ronnie Cox of Cairo; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Beverly Cliett of Cairo; grandchildren and spouses, Angie Long of Cumming, Ga., Amy and Travis Robbins of Cairo, Laurie and Jim Chapman of Elba, Ala., Jessica and Mark Lee of Cairo,Ron Cox Jr. of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Alex Long, Nicholas Long, and Sidney Grace Long, all of Cumming, Stephen Robbins, Jacob Robbins, Caroline Robbins, Katherine Robbins, Cale Lee, Carson Lee, Kristin Lee, Abbey Lee, all of Cairo, Brooke Chapman and Bradley Chapman, all of Elba, Ala., Tristan Cox and Braden Cox, all of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.,  Mikayla Powers of Bealeton, Va.; brothers and sister-in-law, Ray and Mary Francis Cliett of Cairo, Gwynette Cliett of Cairo; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geraldine Miller of Whigham, Kathryn and Saint Elmo Harrison of Whigham, and J. D. Harrell of Cairo. Mr. Cliett was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph H. and Carrie Cliett; his brothers, Kator Cliett, Milton Cliett, Murray Cliett; and sisters, Alma Harrell, Beatrice Singletary, and Rosalee Willis.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today at the funeral home.
