William Penn (Bill) Fallin

William Penn (Bill) Fallin, 79, of Palm City, Fla., died Friday,

Oct. 8, 2010, at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Fla. He was

born in Thomas County and retired to Palm City in 1991. He was president of three separate Newell-Rubbermaid houseware and hardware divisions. In 1985, he and his wife moved to Taipei, Taiwan, where he founded Newell’s Overseas Venture Operations  Office. They remained there until 1990. After retirement, he authored two books, “A Flying Tiger’s Tale” and “Funderburk,” served as a conservative op-ed writer for seven different news organizations, and served as a mediator for Florida’s 19th Judicial Circuit. He was preceded in death by his son, David P. Fallin. He is  survived by his wife, Bobbie T. Fallin, of Palm City; a brother, Joe D. Fallin of Thomasville; son, William P. (Bill) Fallin Jr. of Chapel Hill, N.C.; stepson, Chris Byrnes of Nashville, Tenn.; stepdaughter, Genevieve (Genny) Adkison of Kennesaw; and two grandchildren. A graveside service for the family will be held at Arlington Cemetery in Sandy Springs, Ga., on Friday, Oct. 22, 2010. Donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice 1201 S.E.
