Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division agents made arrests this week in two separate drug cases involving marijuana.

Detavius Williams, 20, of 104 Kelon Drive, was arrested Aug. 17.

“We received info that he was at Oak Hill Road and U.S. 319, would be driving a black Honda and have a quantity of marijuana in his vehicle,” Commander Kevin Lee said Friday.

“He was stopped at the U.S. 319 and the bypass. In plain view was a bag of marijuana in the front seat console area. He was arrested and transported to the narcotics office, where he was interviewed.”

Williams was escorted to his residence and told agents there was marijuana in his bedroom closet.

Agents walked inside with Williams’s mother, who also lives at the residence, and found two bags of marijuana and two sets of digital scales, Lee said.

Williams was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana (less than ounce).

He bonded out of Thomas County Jail the following day for $4,100.

The second case involves marijuana and ecstasy.

Fredrick Hill, 20, of 314 Horrix Street, and a 16-year-old male juvenile are the suspects in the Aug. 18 incident.

“We received info that the suspects would be walking down West Jackson Street approaching Bibb Street,” Lee said. “We were given clothing descriptions and told that Hill had a quantity of marijuana on his person and that the juvenile also had illegal drugs on his person.”

Agents and an investigator made contact with the individuals as they approached Bibb Street, the commander said. They were stopped and searched.

“Five bags of marijuana were found on Hill’s person,” Lee said. “The juvenile was searched and a zip tight container was found. Inside it was two different small baggies that contained a total of 11 pills of ecstasy.”

Both were taken into custody.

The juvenile was charged with possession of ecstasy with intent to distribute and possession of ecstasy within 1,000 feet of a park. He was released to a family member.
