The Thomasville YMCA took 26 swimmers to Tifton on for the 2010 GRPA district swim meet. All qualified for the state championships in Tifton in two weeks.

It was a dominating performance that leaves this team on the cusp of its first state championship for second-year coach Jill Tabacchi.

The team was led by a large slate of swimmers who won their individual events, including  Aubrey Baker, Jordan Barrett, Peyton Barrett, Taylor Barrett, Maggie Davis, Ryan Davis, Megan Harding, Shelby Hutchins, Judson Scharff, Lydia Scharff and Sam Tabacchi. They have an excellent shot at winning their individual events at the state meet.

The relay teams were led by Meredith Renaud, Ashtin Banks, Libby Burton, Jacob Latz, Amber Stewart, Ashton Whaley and Tyler Harding. Renaud’s freestyle relay team nearly broke the state record for 10-and-under girls.
