Services for Evelyn Phyllis Weaver Willis, 70, a longtime resident of Tifton, are at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors in Tifton. The Rev. John Hughes and the Rev. Ronnie Lawson will officiate and interment is in Tift Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are her nephews. Honorary pallbearers are members of the staff of Southern Care Assisted Living. Mrs. Willis died Monday, Oct. 19, at her residence. Born June 12, 1939, in Meigs to the late Roscoe Weaver and Minnie Harrison Weaver, Mrs. Willis was also preceded in death by her husband David Wayne Willis who died May 1, 2006. Mr. and Mrs. Willis were married June 16, 1956. She was a homemaker and a member of Northside Baptist Church and a former member of the Tifton Junior Woman’s Club. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, raising flowers and collected owl figurines. Mrs. Willis had the sweetest spirit. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Amy Willis of West Berrien; her daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Dave Bosse of Tifton; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Rudolph and Sharon Weaver of Senoia, Alwin and Linda Weaver of Albany, Carroll and Mary Weaver of Thomasville and David and Gail Weaver of Meigs; and many in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Southern Care for the excellent care of Mrs. Willis. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, S. W. Georgia Chapter, 1512-1 Gillionville Rd., Albany, Ga. 31632 or Bethany Hospice, 2517 Bemiss Rd., Ste. D, Valdosta, Ga. 31691. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
