Rant & Rave Sept. 17

“If you are the thief who stole a park bench from a grave at Laurel Hill Cemetery, you should be ashamed. Just remember, your loved ones will be there someday.”
“I’m offended by Bill Shipp’s column in Tuesday’s paper. He makes racist remarks in the third paragraph. That should not be acceptable even on the editorial page. The newspaper should pull his column and apologize.”
“In Tuesday’s paper, putting the Gators on the front of the sports page and the ’Dogs on page 3 makes as much sense as putting Bainbridge on the front.”
“I know you cannot print all the rants and raves you receive and I’m sure this will be one of them not printed. The least you could do is print the ones with some substance — unlike ‘Go Seminoles. Beat Wake Forest.’ Football is great but not important compared to the problems we face in these times.”
“I know someone who just returned from Texas where the hurricane hit. Texas didn’t have a mass shortage of gas and the price didn’t skyrocket like it did here. Hmmmmm!”
“Oil has gone down to $91 a barrel, some 41 percent, yet we are paying more than $4 a gallon for gas. I don’t understand the math. I hope the gas retailers can sleep at night.”
