William C. Brown

William C. Brown, 89, of Pavo passed away June 6, 2008, at Smith Northview Hospital. Mr. Brown was born Aug. 9, 1918, to the late William David and Estelle Byrd Brown. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Pavo. Mr. Brown was self-employed as a farmer before retiring. Survivors include his wife, Doris Jordan Brown of Quitman; one son, Billy Mack Brown of Adel; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and John Gardner of Valdosta, and Judy and John Griffin of Coolidge; four brothers, Clifford Brown of Albany, Albert Brown of Leesburg, Lewis Brown of Quitman, and David Brown of Thomasville; one sister, Doris Busbee of Albany; four grandchildren, Brian Gardner of Buford, Sean Griffin of Moultrie, Daphne McCormick (Ryan) Suwanne, and Amy Brown of Lilburn; one granddaughter, Olivia McCormick. The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville. The family will receive friends Sunday at Purvis Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. — Purvis Funeral Home, Adel
