Services for Frank Elwood Sellers, 81, of Cairo, are at 11 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2008, at Midway Baptist Church in Cairo. The Rev. Tim Vanlandingham, the Rev. Jack House and the Rev. Howard Tillery will officiate and interment is in Midway Cemetery. Active pallbearers are grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Willard Williams, George Thomas, D.W. Andrews and Pat McCorkle. Mr. Sellers died Friday, May 30 at his residence. Born Jan. 17, 1927, in Grady County, he was a son of the late Kater Preston and Ceola Estella VanBrunt Sellers. On March 15, 1980, he married Virginia M. Sellers of Cairo who survives. He was a nurseryman with Sinkola Plantation and a member of Midway Baptist Church. Other survivors include a son, Elwood Sellers of Cairo; daughters, Judy Lane of Thomasville, Marsha Sellers of Albany, Mary Makrynakis (Theo) of Cleveland, Tenn., Janice Kelley of Cairo, Susan Ulmer (Tracy) of Cairo, Bonnie Sellers of Cairo; stepchildren, Becky Stokes (George) of Ellersly, Lem Cassels (Jean) of Whigham, Gloria Hurst (Ronnie) of Thomasville, Sharon Chason (Kenneth) of Whigham, Paul Cassels (Renee) of Chatsworth; sister, Jewell Brady of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; 38 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter, Diann Guthrie; sisters, Annie Mae Sellers, Edna Bryant, Bernice Hancock; brothers, Elmer Sellers and Perry Sellers.
