Services for Coney McGill, 85, Coolidge, are at 2 p.m., Feb. 2, 2008, at Silverhill Missionary Baptist Church in Coolidge. The Rev. Warren Hope will officiate and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery in Thomasville. Active pallbearers are Leroy Esther, John Esther, Robert Esther, Wallace Davis, Clyde Johnson and Ronnie Mitchell. Mr. McGill died Jan. 26 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Born in Moultrie, he was a son of Jimmie McNeil. He was married in Thomas County to Florence Spencer. He was a member of Silverhill M.B. Church where he served as church secretary and deacon. He served in the U.S. Army and was a bus driver. Survivors include his wife, Florence McGill of Coolidge; daughter, Jimmie (Charles) McNeil of Coolidge; granddaughter, Jackie (Victor) Williams of Thomasville; grandson, Kenneth (Mildred) Head of Moultrie; granddaughters, Pamela Head of Coolidge, Leslie Coleman of Moultrie; grandson, Scottie (Gloria) Head of Tampa, Fla.; granddaughter, Brandy Head of Coolidge; great-grandsons, Avon Laing, Adriell Laing, Allen West Jr., D’Anta Brown, Cerria Edwards, Charles Coleman Jr., Brandon Coleman, Juils Coleman, Jannie Head, Ashley Head, Immanuel Head; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. The viewing is from 1 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., today at the funeral home and from noon until the funeral hour Saturday at the church with no viewing after the eulogy.
