Willie Clyde Davis

Services for Elder Willie Clyde Davis, 80, Meigs, are at 11 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2007, at I John Holiness Church. Bishop Horace Brown will officiate and interment is in Pelham Memorial Gardens. Elder Davis died June 9 at his residence. He was born April 18, 1927, in Mitchell County. He was a member of I John Holiness Church where he was pastor for more than 40 years. Survivors include his wife, Rosa Davis of Meigs; a daughter, Evangelist Verna Stokes of Tallahassee, Fla.; three sons, Floyd Davis (Melissa) of Fayetteville, N.C., Marvin Davis and Ernest Vann Davis of Meigs; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three godchildren. — Nathaniel Thomas and Son Home for Funerals



Chadwick Wayne Johnson

Services for Chadwick Wayne Johnson, 29, of Thomasville, are at 11 a.m., June 14, 2007, at First Newark Baptist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Mike Keown and the Rev. Brad Gwartney will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Johnson died June 11 at his residence. Born Feb. 14, 1978, in Thomasville, he was the son of Wayne L. and Becky Cain Johnson, of Thomasville, both of whom survive. He was the manager of Pet Stop. Mr. Johnson graduated from Thomasville High School, where he was a member of the football team and concert band. He was also a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a degree in biology. He enjoyed scuba diving and the wonders of the ocean which was seen in the pride he felt for his own saltwater aquarium, those at work, and those of his customers. He was a loving son, brother and wonderful uncle to his 14-month-old nephew. He was a loyal friend, and his love of animals was obvious to his customers and their pets. He was an avid sports fan, especially of baseball and football. Other survivors include a sister, Christy Johnson; nephew Cayden Johnson; maternal grandfather, the Rev. William Cain; step-grandmother Rosalyn Cain, all of Thomasville; aunts and uncles, Brenda and Keith Wahlig of Riverdale, Margaret and Tom Reidy of Clinton, Md., Billy and Renee Cain of Hampton, Grady and Carolyn Johnson of Lake City, Fla., Inez and Robert Barret of Ochlocknee, Ronny and Linda Johnson of Coolidge, David and Sheila Johnson of Thomasville, JoAnn and Mac Castleberry of Thomasville, Bobby and Gail Johnson of Moultrie, Jerry Johnson of Ochlocknee; and his beloved dog, Mia; and numerous cousins. His maternal grandmother Evelyn Cain, and paternal grandparents Grady and Alice Johnson preceded him in death. Susie N. Waters

Services for Susie N. Waters are at 10 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2007, at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Grady County. The Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner will officiate and interment is in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers are Ken Waters, David Fudge, Chris Waters, Tony Waters, Tom Waters and Phillip Cooper. Mrs. Waters died June 12 at Glenn-Mor Nursing Home. She was a retired sales clerk at Belk-Hudson in Thomasville. Born July 20, 1924, in Grady County, she was a daughter of the late William Nicholson and Jeannie Gallops Nicholson. On Jan. 29, 1942 in Grady County, she married Leo Edward Waters who preceded her in death on July 10, 1981. She was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. Survivors include daughter, Cecelia W. Brown of Thomasville; son, Tommy Waters (Janice) of Meigs; daughter, Annelle Waters Fudge (Ralph) of Thomasville; sons, Roger Waters (Vivian), Ken Waters (Shirley) all of Thomasville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Cecil and Madge Waters of Michigan; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Smith of Pelham, Louise Long of Cairo, Lois Nicholson of Jacksonville, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; niece, Janice Curtis (Tommy) and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today at the funeral home.
