Hubert Clifford Mason
OCILLA — Hubert Clifford Mason, 56, of Ocilla, died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. Bro. Jason Lambdin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Robbie Copeland, Seth Smith, Brandon Mason, John Roberts, Shannon Smith and Jonathon Schultz will serve as pallbearers. Robert Parker will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Mr. Mason was born on April 10, 1950, in Florala, Ala. He was the son of Hubert Mason and Dorothy Dillon Mason, both deceased.
He was a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Sue Parker Mason of Ocilla; a son, Clifford Lavel Mason of Ocilla; five daughters, Stephanie Roberts of Enigma, Kimberly Copeland of McDonough, Candice Smith of Douglas, Dawn Schultz of Michigan and Hope Lambdin of Tifton; a brother, Hershel Mason of Cordele; a sister, Sanora Dominy of Americus; and 15 grandchildren, Brandon Mason, Seth Smith, Courtney Smith, Aaron Smith, Ashton Smith, Matthew Smith, Genny Mason, Elisabeth Lambdin, Bethanie Roberts, Rebekah Smith, Joshua Lambdin, Scarlette Schultz, Luke Lambdin, Colton Copeland and Nathaniel Schultz.

Edith M. Scarborough Fowler
TIFTON — Edith M. Scarborough Fowler, 70, of Tifton, died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Tift Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Burial will follow at Hickory Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Shelton Smith, the Rev. George Parrish and the Rev. Joe Crumley will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Fowler was born on Oct. 5, 1935, in Worth County. She was the daughter of Elton Scarborough and Elmer Harris Scarborough, both deceased.
She was a homemaker and an interpreter at the Georgia Agrirama. She was of the Christian faith and had lived in Tift County her entire life.
Survivors include her husband, Horace Fowler of Tifton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Donna Fowler of Tifton, Ladon Fowler of Tifton, and Greg and Kelli Fowler of Tifton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lethia Sumner of Tifton and Rachel and Lee Walker of Tifton; two brothers, Dan Scarborough of Tift County and Jack Scarborough of Tift County; a sister, Nettie Mae Pope of Worth County; 11 grandchildren, Heather Pearman, Matthew Fowler, Jennifer Williams, Corey Fowler, Kari Fowler, Michelle Horton, Tyler Sumner, Amanda Walker, Josh Walker, Kerigan Fowler and Kailyn Fowler; and four great-grandchildren, Abby Pearman, Madelyn Horton, Callie Horton and Kayleigh Fowler.

Mildred L. Harper
TIFTON — Mildred LeaJean Grimsley Everritt Harper, 74, of Tifton, died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at Palmyra Medical Center in Albany.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Eastside Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Bobo officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors.
Bo Grimsley, Tim Harper, James Henry Carver, Steve Carver, Wade Harper and D.W. Harper will serve as pallbearers with Jessie Grimsley, Joe Grimsley, Stephen Grimsley, Dewey Jones, Steve Manry, Rory Harper, Ronny Carver and Cliff Quinn serving as honorary pallbearers.
Born Aug. 25, 1931, in Dawson, to the late Joseph F. Grimsley and Gertrude Thompson Grimsely, Mrs. Harper was also preceded in death by her husband Lanell Harper, five brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Harper, formerly of Sylvester, had lived in Tifton for 24 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was good at cooking and sewing and enjoyed her church life and working in her yard.
Mrs. Harper is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Ray and Beverly Everritt of Shellman and Jeff and Terri Harper of Sylvester; one daughter and son-in-law, Staci and Jason Old of Hopkinsville; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Chuck and Sissy Grimsley of Headland, Ala., and Pat Grimsley of Ocilla; her grandchildren, Justin Everitt, Victoria Everritt Walters, Joel McBride, Kristian McBride and Mikayla Lane Old; and many nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Eastside Baptist Church Building Fund.

SANDY SPRINGS — James Burton Britton, 34, of Sandy Springs, died July 13, 2006.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Roswell Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Frank Bernat will officiate. Interment will be at Green Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Roswell Funeral Home.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Britton of Roswell; his mother, Linda Linley of Tifton; a son, Drew Britton of California; a stepsister, Cynthia Schaub of Birmingham, Ala.; a brother, Paul Dwayne Britton of Braselton; a stepbrother, Matt and Tara Avera of Marietta, Eric Linley of Birmingham, Ala.; his grandmother, Daphne Britton of Selma, Ala.; and one nephew, Brandon Britton.

Ruby Spivey Holton
DOUGLAS — Ruby Spivey Holton, 90, of Douglas, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the West Ward Church of God. Burial will follow at the Douglas City Cemetery.
Mrs. Holton was preceded in death by a son, 1st Lt. Leon Gershon Holton; four brothers, the Rev. J. Frank Spivey, Phillip Spivey, T.J. Spivey and H.D. Spivey; and a sister, Phronie Clayton.
Survivors include two sons, Denton Eugene (Inga) Holton Jr. of Douglas and Melvin Clark (Sandra) Holton of Marietta; four daughters, Delores (Claude) LaHaie of Lithia Springs, Cynthia M. (W.R.) Lott of Douglas, Linda A. (Hugh) Haddock of Hilliard, Fla., and Pixie Nelwanda (Bill) Wooten of Douglas; three brothers, L.c. (Nina) Spivey and Jack (Janice) Spivey, all of Douglas, and Joe (Cathryn) Spivey of Powder Springs; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

TIFTON — Mark Evans, 45, of Tifton, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at River of Life Church, with the Rev. Morris Gaines officiating. A private burial will follow at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at River of Life Church, prior to the service.
Born Nov. 4, 1960, in Tifton, Mr. Evans was the son of Wilbur E. Evans and Lonnie Pearl Myers Evans Richardson, both deceased.
He was disabled and was a former truck driver and former manager of Steak ’N Shake. He was a member of River of Life Church.
Survivors include one son, Dustin Evans of Lyons; two daughters, Candace Evans of Crossville, Tenn., and Renee Evans; one sister, Carol Hutt Wise of Baxley; three grandchildren, Korey, Austin and Alex Meisner; and special friends, Marcy Roberts, Jeannette Shelton Washington and Jessica Meisner.
