William Tracy Norman

SPARKS — William Tracy Norman, 55, of Sparks, died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at Memorial Hospital of Adel.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Sparks City Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Eason and the Rev. Randall Rehberg officiated.

Mr. Norman was born on Jan. 4, 1951 in Lowndes County. He was the son of William Thomas Norman, deceased, and Irma Bush Norman of Sparks. He lived most of his life in Sparks and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sue Stephens Norman of Sparks; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Christy and Rick Hatfield of Adel and Shelly and Brandon Sale of Valdosta; a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Melvin Rowan of Adel; and a grandchild, Ashton Renae Sale of Valdosta.

Angelyn Holmes Childs

WARNER ROBINS — Angelyn Holmes Childs, 72, died Saturday, April 29, 2006.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shirley Hills Baptist Church in Warner Robins, with burial in Oakridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Warner Robins.

Mrs. Childs was born in Tifton to the late Marion and Mildred Spooner Holmes. She was a member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church. Mrs. Childs was very active in the Warner Robins Newcomers Club, the Red Hat Society and an active bridge player.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy N. Childs of Warner Robins; daughters, Beth (Stephen) Fenwick of Berwyn, Pa., and Susan (Tracy) Payne of Bonaire; a sister, Nancy (Wesley) Nichols of New London, N.H.; a brother, Marion (Virginia Anne) Holmes Jr. of Atlanta; grandchildren Julie Fenwick, Laura Fenwick, Katherine Fenwick, Allie Payne and Childs Payne.

Contributions may be made to Shirley Hills Baptist Church at 615 Corder Road, Warner Robins, GA 30281 in memory of Mrs. Childs.

Sellers Christie

TIFTON — Sarah Mae Sellers Christie, 95, of Tifton, died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Kersey Funeral Home in Auburndale, Fla., with visitation for one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mrs. Christie was born on Jan. 27, 1911, in Houston County, Ala. She was the daughter of Walker Sellers and Martha Cameron Sellers, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Christie. She was retired from Adams Packing Company and was a member of Tifton Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gwendolyn (George) Parrish of Tifton; a brother, O.W. Sellers of Bainbridge; a sister, Lucy McGuire of Columbus; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Richards Hand

TIFTON — Autta Mae Richards Hand, 92, of Tifton, died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Tift Health Care.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Burial will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Frank Morris will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Kerry Underwood, Kirby Underwood, Kenny Hawkins, Don Marchant, Freddy Walker and Carlton Marchant will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Hand was born on Feb. 19, 1914 in Tifton. She was the daughter of Hamilton J. Richards and Margaret Cantrell Richards, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Hand; a son; several brothers and sisters; and a granddaughter. She was retired from food service with the Tift County Board of Education and was a member of Vanceville Congregational Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, Joel Hand of Omega; a daughter-in-law, Paige Hand; four grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Faye Hand, Anita Hand, Celeste and Jeff Leach and Kevin and Dorothea Hand; two great-grandchildren, Tony Sims and Kaitlyn Hand; and a special friend and caregiver, Connie Caruthers.

Henry Dales

VALDOSTA — Henry Dales, 65, of Valdosta, died Monday, May 1, 2006, at South Georgia Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services, with Dr. Danny Edwards and Bro. James Cagle officiating. Burial will follow at the Beaver Dam Cemetery in Ray City. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Dales was born on April 23, 1941 in Berrien County to the late Dave and Lula Stones Dales. He was a retired farmer and in his latter years, he worked in lawn service, mowing and keeping up several cemeteries around the area. He was a member of Bemiss Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Ray Dales of Valdosta; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marynell and Gregg Oliphant of Ray City, Linda and Mike Paluszewski of Ray City and Diane and Dewayne Ray of Ray City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Kimberly Dales of Ray City and Dewayne and Selina Dales of Tifton; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Doris Gray of Alapaha; and a number of nieces and nephews.
