Services for Sylvia Rosencrantz Cobb, Thomasville, are at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003 at Boston Church of God. The Rev. Teddy Ray Hunt will officiate and interment is in Pavo Lebanon Cemetery. Mrs. Cobb died Monday, Feb. 10 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 22, 1926 in Colquitt County, Ga., she was a daughter of Charles Wesley Rosencrantz and Mary Crosby Rosencrantz. She was married to William Joshua Cobb for 52 years and he preceded her in death on July 28, 1995. She was a homemaker and a member of Boston Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters, Mary Alice Highfill of Seattle, Wash., Sylvia Ann Humphries of Cairo, Betty Jean Potter of Thomasville, Martha Elizabeth Hopkins of Leesburg, Myrtle Louise Hampton of Butler, Bessie Lorene Royal of Boston, Carolyn Ann NeSmith, Carol Sue Cobb both of Thomasville; sons, Julian Lester Cobb of Pavo, William Joshua Cobb (T-Bo) of McDonough, Tyrus Cravon Cobb of Monticello, Fla.; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, George Franklin Cobb, William Joseph Cobb, James Edward Cobb; four brothers; and two sisters. Merle Collins Cox

Services for Merle Collins Cox, 76, Cairo, are at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003 at Pine Hill Baptist Church in Cairo. The Rev. Harold Combs will officiate and interment is in Gainey Cemetery in Cairo. Active pallbearers are John Davis, Earl Davis, Terry Murphy, William Holton, Wesley Lee and Jerry Lee. Mrs. Cox died Feb. 10 at Grady General Hospital in Cairo. Born Feb. 26, 1926 in Grady County, she was a daughter of the late Jessie Lee and Claudia Davis Collins. She was married to Eugene “Sonny” Cox on Feb. 14, 1945. She was a lifetime member of Grady County, a homemaker and a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Eugene “Sonny” Cox of Cairo; daughter, Connie C. Congdon of Americus; a sister, Dot Murphy of Cairo; grandchildren, Sherry A. Lopez of Americus, Angie L. Cooper of Gainesville, Kimberly Wade of Cairo, Amy Waddell of Bainbridge, Alison Greener of Thomasville; great-grandchildren, Alex Lopez, Lyle Lopez and Anne Lee Lopez all of Americus, John Carter Cooper of Gainesville, Natalie Wade and Ricky Wade both of Cairo, Lynsey Waddell, Gracie Waddell, Joseph Alan Waddell all of Bainbridge and Alan Michael Greener of Thomasville. Rhea Marie C. Edwards

Graveside services for Rhea Marie C. Edwards, 59, Albany, are at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003 at Crown Hill Cemetery, 1907 Dawson Rd., Albany. Mrs. Edwards died Feb. 11 at her residence. Born April 11, 1943, she was a daughter of Lillian Chapman. A native of Bainbridge, Mrs. Edwards had lived in Albany for the past 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry D. Edwards Sr. She was a member of the Barwick Baptist Church in Barwick and was a loving mother and a homemaker. Survivors include her sons, Dennis Edwards of Sylvester, Carl Walton of Albany, Richard Edwards of Warner Robins, Michael Edwards of Alachua, Fla., Larry Edwards Jr. Tullahoma, Tenn.; her mother, Lillian Chapman of Barwick; a brother, Harlan Chapman of Gainesville; three sisters, Patty Sumner of Thomasville, Anna Bell Gladney of Thomasville, Mary Nell Bellew of Oneonta, Ala.; and three grandchildren. Services for Beverly C. James, 69, Cairo, are at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at First United Methodist Church, Cairo. The Rev. Richard Soper will officiate and interment is in Cairo Cemetery in Cairo. Mrs. James died Monday, Feb. 10 at Grady General Hospital in Cairo. Born Aug. 5, 1933 in W. Jonesport, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Larna Lamson Guptill. She was married to Kenneth G. James of Cairo on





Dec. 19, 1953. A longtime resident of Cairo, she was a homemaker, served in the U.S. Army and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth G. James of Cairo; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Laura James of Atlanta, Donald and Lisa James of Cairo, Chris and Vickie James of Cairo, Gary and Alma James of Calvary; a sister, Dawn M. Edgar Howell Hart Jr.

Graveside services for Edgar Howell Hart Jr., Tallahassee, Fla. are at 3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003 at Pavo Lebanon Cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy Odom will officiate. Mr. Hart died Tuesday, Feb. 11 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee. Born Dec. 12, 1921 in Columbus, he was a son of the late Edgar Howell Hart Sr. and Roselia Bryant. He was married to Betty Mae Haynon Hart who preceded him in death on May 23, 1999. He attended school in Pavo, was a retired plumber, of the Baptist faith and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Survivors include his sons, Edward Allen Cooper of Albany, Steve Cooper of Pavo; sisters, Louise Fuchs of San Bernardino, Calif., Sarah Repass of Pavo, Shirley Gandy of Pavo; brothers, Charles Hart of Pavo, Marvin Hart of Thomasville; and three grandchildren. — Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home
