THOMASVILLE — Police had no trouble recognizing the man they were looking for in a convenience store heist early Wednesday.
The suspect wore a sheet over his head when he held up Sunrise Pantry, 1405 W. Jackson St., about 2:30 a.m.
A police officer responding to the incident — and who had a description of the suspect — encountered a man with a sheet over his head driving a car along South Martin Luther King Drive. The car took off with the officer giving chase.
Hattie Bailey, Thomasville, died Wednesday at Archbold Medical Center. Local survivors include a sister, Katie Ponder; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Ponder. — Hadley’s Funeral Home
Vinnie Mae Carter, 70, 202 Rosedale Ave., died Wednesday at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Local survivors include a daughter, Brenda Thomas Smith; a son, Timmie Lee Spence; sisters, Vera Mae Phillips, Carrie Lee Abson and Odell Burkes, all of Thomasville. — Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home
